Leah's Journey
Livonia family praying for a miracle
By Linda Ann Chomin Staff Writer
March 20, 2005
Leah James can't wait for the mail to arrive. A bowl in the kitchen holds the latest stack of angels and butterflies which were sent by strangers after they learned about the 4-year-old Livonia girl through the Web site Leah was diagnosed with a rare inoperable brain tumor July 21 and the prognosis is not good. Leah's parents, Karen and Phil James, are praying for a miracle. The crocheted angels and butterflies arrive with a message of hope. "The angels and butterflies come from all over the U.S. and have notes that say our thoughts and prayers are with you. It's so nice at a time like this," said Karen James. "We would like more people praying for her. It's so frustrating to me that there's no cure."
